Designed for the analysis of anions and cations
The IONUS system is suitable for the analysis of anions and cations in research, development, and routine applications.
Sample solutions are primarily aqueous-based and may contain water-miscible organic solvents. A classic example is the analysis of (drinking) water in accordance with EPA Method 300, Parts A and B.
The advantage of IONUS is its compatibility with IC columns from all manufacturers and with all common eluents used in anion and cation chromatography.

Flow scheme
Suppressor technology can be added to the instrument to measure lower concentration ranges during anion analysis.
In applications performed without suppressor technology, the chromatogram may exhibit both negative and positive peaks for each substance, or peak areas may be very small due to minimal conductivity differences.
In such cases, an external UV/VIS detector can provide a solution by employing indirect UV detection for light-absorbing eluents.
